CAVERN'S 10th ANNIVERSARY POLL!!!
Well, this year, La Caverna celebrates its 10th anniversary, thanks to all of you.
I even had my review plans for this year, but it occurred to me that 10 years is no small feat and it's worth celebrating.
Therefore, there are several surprises coming up that I'll be announcing. The first is a Vote! We've had enough without the famous votes. As a way of saying thanks, and despite already having my list of reviews, this time I want to put 10 albums up for a vote, which you'll choose for us to review this year.
The process is simple: Vote for the albums you want to see reviewed. The only rule is that it must be an album that's still in the band's discography. Voting will be open all March, and on April 1st, the 10 albums with the most votes will be considered for review this year. They won't be reviewed immediately, nor necessarily in the order of votes. They may also alternate with other albums that were planned, but if they will be reviewed this year, they will be. If a review of any of the albums that end up in the top ten comes out in March, I'd give its place to the next one up in the voting.
The truth is, there are some very good albums, some long-awaited, and I have my suspicions about which ones will win, but there are always surprises. I'm leaving the list of the albums that follow by band and the link for you to vote. For obvious reasons, I excluded those bands that are already complete from the voting:

10th ANNIVERSAY POLL RESULTS
Well, voting has closed for this year's reviews.
To clear any confusion, and given the close race for tenth and first place, I took Print View at exactly 12 PM. Although they already have a few more votes today, April 1st, the rankings haven't changed.
I want to thank all of you for your participation, and I must admit there were some surprises. I had some ideas about certain albums that I thought would make it in without a problem, but they ended up missing the top 10. The voting started as I expected, with Genesis, The Who, RHCP, Green Day, and Café Tacuba in the top spots. Surprisingly, the Beatles' Anthologies got off to a strong start, forging ahead against all odds. Pescado Rabioso also remained in the top 20 from the start, and gradually climbed higher. This isn't surprising given the album's quality, but they swept aside other Latin American bands that were also looking strong. Arcade Fire and Radiohead slowly gained strength and pushed the Beatles out of the top 10. Jethro Tull made a sprint mid-month and never let go of fourth place.
The Kinks and Suede surprised, not because they continue to have bad albums, but because I thought there would be albums that would interest them more. It was a pleasant surprise to see the appreciation for Village Green and Coming Up.
Green Day slowed down toward the end, at times putting their ranking at risk, but managed to hold on to No. 9. Tenth place was hotly contested, with Yes, The Smiths, David Bowie, RHCP, and Café Tacuba battling hard and with very little difference in votes. Until the final days, Yes and The Smiths pulled away, and finally Yes took tenth place, knocking off, to my surprise, Blood Sugar, Sex Magik, and Sino, which I thought would qualify without a problem.
The top spot was also tight. For most of the competition, it was clear that Genesis, The Who, and Jethro Tull would lead the pack. However, Arcade Fire's Reflektor broke the mold by slowly but steadily climbing, at times taking first place from Genesis' masterpiece, and ultimately finishing in second place by less than 10 votes.
So, the voting stands:
1 - Genesis - Selling England by the Pund (377 votos)
2 - Arcade Fire - Reflektor (368 votos)
3 - The Who - Quadrophenia (353 votos)
4 - Jethro Tull - Aqualung (327 votos)
5 - The Kinks - Are The Village Green Preservation Society (317 votos)
6 - Pescado Rabioso - Pescado 2 (314 votos)
7 - Radiohead - The King of Limbs (310 votos)
8 - Green Day - Dookie (292 votos)
9 - Suede - Coming Up (288 votos)
10 - Yes - Close to the Edge (276 votos)
So these reviews will be coming. Not immediately, not in that order, but we'll be scheduling them for the rest of the year, interspersed with others already scheduled.
Thanks again for your votes!
